Baghdad:The Security Media Cell has announced that it has officially taken control of the main U.S. forces headquarters at Baghdad Airport, known as Camp Victory.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Lieutenant General Dr. Saad Maan, Head of the Security Media Cell, stated that the handover of the U.S. headquarters at Baghdad Airport, along with the agreement on the withdrawal of Turkish forces from the Bashiqa base, are significant steps toward consolidating Iraq’s sovereignty and strengthening the authority of state institutions across the country.

Maan further explained that these developments highlight the possibility of continuing security cooperation with international partners based on mutual respect while preserving the independence of Iraqi decision-making.
