US Military Launches Strikes on Iran Amid Tensions in Strait of Hormuz

Washington: The US military announced today that it has initiated a new round of strikes against Iran in the wake of an Iranian attack on a container ship in the Strait of Hormuz. The military strikes were executed following directives from US President Donald Trump.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that this marks the third series of strikes against Iran within the week. The escalation follows an assault by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on a Cypriot-flagged container vessel navigating through the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, the IRGC declared the indefinite closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This announcement came after the IRGC targeted a ship with warning shots for allegedly taking an unauthorized route. The IRGC Navy reported that the vessel was hit and halted by warning shots, followed by another vessel breaching regulations in the area.
