US President: Talks with Iran in Muscat Are Moving in the Right Direction


Muscat: US President Donald Trump confirmed today that the talks his country held with Iran in the Omani capital, Muscat, are going well, indicating that the dialogue between the two sides is moving in the right direction, following the conclusion of the first round of negotiations between the American and Iranian delegations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump said, in statements aboard Air Force One, that the talks are progressing encouragingly, in his first comment following the meeting between US Special Envoy Steven Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in the Sultanate of Oman.



The United States and Iran affirmed their commitment to continuing the negotiating process yesterday, following the first round of talks held in the Omani capital, Muscat, with the participation of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff.
