Hillah: A wanted individual was arrested on charges of premeditated murder at the Shuhada checkpoint north of Hillah, as part of a broader police operation. In a separate incident, a fire that erupted in several shops in the Jablah district, also located north of Hillah, was successfully extinguished by civil defense teams without any injuries reported. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Babylon Police Command detachments carried out a successful operation resulting in the arrest of a suspect wanted for premeditated murder. The arrest was made during a search operation at the Shuhada checkpoint. Brigadier General Adel Al-Husseini, the Director of Media for Babylon Police, highlighted that the accused was identified by matching his personal information with criminal databases. In another incident in the same geographical area, Civil Defense teams responded to a fire incident in the Jablah district. The Director of Media for Civil Defense, Aqil Abdullah, reported that the fire involved multiple shop s but was contained before it could spread to adjacent properties. The swift response from the Civil Defense ensured that there were no casualties or further damage. These separate but simultaneous incidents highlight the ongoing challenges and responsive measures in maintaining safety and law enforcement in the region.
