Washington: Washington has officially confirmed, for the first time, the deployment of weapons in space. This significant development was announced by US Air Force Secretary Troy Menke, marking a pivotal moment in the United States’ defense strategy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Secretary Menke stated that the deployment aims to enhance American defense capabilities in Earth orbit. The initiative is a response to “advanced threats” and underscores the strategic importance of space in modern warfare. “For this reason, the United States now has weapons positioned in orbit around the Earth, with the goal of controlling space and protecting joint forces from any potential hostile acts,” Menke elaborated.

The announcement was made during a conference in Maryland, but officials refrained from providing technical details about the nature of these weapons or the precise timing of their deployment.
