Zurbatiya: An expanded meeting was held at the Zurbatiya border crossing to discuss preparations for the Arbaeen pilgrimage. Wasit Governor Ali Hassan Salimoun chaired the meeting to oversee arrangements for the pilgrimage to the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). Attendees included the parliamentary committee responsible for monitoring the preparations, members of the Council of Representatives and the Provincial Council, and directors of service and security departments.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Salimoun stated that discussions focused on preparing the crossing to accommodate pilgrims. The meeting addressed enhancing service efforts, supporting the Wasit Municipality, completing health readiness, securing an emergency power line, and developing a traffic plan to ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims. Additionally, there was an emphasis on strengthening security measures.
The Wasit Governor highlighted the commitment of the local government to the success of the Arba'een pilgrimage. He noted that all resources have been dedicated to this effort through the collaboration of relevant departments and teamwork. This approach aims to guarantee the provision of optimal services for pilgrims from their entry through the Zurbatiya border crossing until their departure.
