Wathiq al-Battat Arrested on Charges of Insulting Security Institutions

Baghdad: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Friday the arrest of Wathiq al-Battat on charges of insulting security institutions. A statement from the PMF detailed that al-Battat was apprehended by PMF security forces based on an official arrest warrant.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrest warrant for al-Battat was issued by the competent judiciary. The charges relate to his alleged derogatory statements against security institutions and the PMF.
