Wasit: The Ministry of Interior announced the successful seizure of weapons and ammunition, along with the arrest of their possessors, in Wasit Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry revealed that the operation was part of ongoing preemptive security measures. A joint security force consisting of personnel from the Al-Suwaira Police Department, emergency brigades, K9 units, and intelligence squads conducted a coordinated operation aimed at pursuing outlaws and locating individuals wanted by the judiciary, as well as uncovering unlicensed weapons in the northern part of the governorate.

The operation led to the arrest of eight individuals who were found in possession of various weapons and ammunition. These individuals, along with the confiscated weapons, have been handed over to the appropriate authorities to ensure that necessary legal actions are taken against them.
