Gaza: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) revealed today that “one in three people in the Gaza Strip have not eaten for several days,” indicating an unprecedented deterioration in the humanitarian situation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the WFP indicated that “some 90,000 people in Gaza are suffering from malnutrition, and dozens of related deaths were recorded in the past week alone.”

In a joint statement, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom called for the lifting of restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid, considering that “preventing essential supplies from reaching civilians is unacceptable.”

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) had warned of a significant increase in malnutrition rates among children under the age of five, noting that the numbers doubled between March and June as a result of the ongoing blockade on the Strip. Its health centers conducted approximately 74,000 nutritional examinations of children during this period, detecting nearly 5,500 cases of moderate acute malnutrition and more than 800 cases of severe acute malnutrition.
