Gaza: The World Health Organization confirmed: “The health situation in the Gaza Strip is catastrophic and unprecedented, and the continued Israeli bombing and destruction are completely disrupting the work of medical teams and health facilities.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, WHO Spokesperson Margaret Harris said: “There are severe restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid, leading to a near-total disruption of medical and relief supply chains.” She stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire, as the continued bombing makes it impossible to provide healthcare to the wounded or access all areas within the Strip.

The Spokesperson explained: “There is a severe shortage of water, food, medicines, and medical supplies, which is exacerbating the suffering of the population and health sector workers.”

She continued, “I have never witnessed a humanitarian disaster of this magnitude in my professional career. What is happening in Gaza is genocide, with the entire population suffering from an unprecedented health and food crisis.”

Regarding the presence of medical teams operating inside the Strip, Harris confirmed that some teams are still trying to provide aid, but they face enormous obstacles due to the lack of medical equipment and the absence of safe corridors. She added, “There is no point in having medical teams without essential supplies. The international community must take serious steps to provide these needs immediately.”

She noted that humanitarian efforts are completely paralyzed due to the lack of supplies and the ongoing violence, calling for immediate international action to end the crisis and ensure the delivery of medical and humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
