Hillah: A woman in her forties tragically lost her life in the Sadat al-Hindiyah district, north of Hillah, when she was accidentally shot by her brother. The incident occurred on Sunday evening as her brother was cleaning his personal weapon at their home.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Adel al-Husseini, the Director of Media for the Babylon Police, confirmed the unfortunate event. He stated that the woman was killed when the weapon discharged unexpectedly during the cleaning process.

The police have transported the woman’s body to the forensic medicine department for further examination. An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the details surrounding the incident.
