Baghdad: A woman accused of human trafficking was arrested in Babylon. Intelligence and security detachments carried out the arrest, confirming the ongoing efforts to combat such crimes in the region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced in a press release that its field detachments in Babylon successfully detained the woman during an operation targeting human trafficking activities. The arrest is part of broader efforts to address illegal activities in the area.
The press release also noted that the directorate's detachments apprehended foreigners who were found violating residency regulations. These individuals were intercepted while traveling from Baghdad with the intention of entering Babylon province. The authorities have since referred them to the relevant legal entities for further action.
