Baghdad: The "X" platform, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a significant technical glitch, resulting in a service disruption for tens of thousands of users worldwide.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the outage was tracked by the "Down Detector" website, which reported a sharp increase in issues starting on Saturday morning. Over 25,000 users in the United States alone reported difficulties with loading or interacting with posts, often encountering the message: "Something went wrong... Try reloading."
This disruption comes at a critical time for the platform, following Elon Musk's $44 billion acquisition in late 2022. Musk has since implemented drastic changes, including reducing the workforce by approximately 80%, raising concerns about the platform's technical infrastructure and support capabilities.
Notably, this is the second significant outage for the platform this year. In March, "X" experienced a similar issue that lasted about half an hour, temporarily halting user interactions globally.
