Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to visit Moscow for negotiations aimed at achieving a diplomatic settlement.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zelensky expressed his stance during an interview with ABC News, stating, “He (Putin) can come to Kyiv. I cannot go to Moscow while my country is being bombed daily.” This statement highlights Zelensky’s firm position amid ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia.

Earlier, at the Eastern Economic Forum, President Putin had expressed his willingness to meet with Zelensky, indicating a readiness to hold discussions at the highest level. Putin stated, “If the Ukrainian leadership is serious about its desire to negotiate, let them come to Moscow, and we will guarantee their 100 percent security.”

Putin also emphasized that Russia is prepared to provide full security guarantees for Zelensky and the Ukrainian delegation if they choose to travel to Moscow for talks. Despite this assurance, Zelensky remains steadfast in his decision to reject the invitation to Moscow.
