Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had received a proposal from Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustam Umarov, to hold a new meeting between representatives of Russia and Ukraine in Turkey.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in his evening address last night, Zelenskyy said, "Today I discussed with Rustam Umarov preparations for a prisoner exchange and holding another meeting with the Russian side in Turkey."

He added that "effective discussions will only take place at the level of the country's leaders," and that Umarov suggested that representatives of the two countries hold a new meeting in Turkey.

Zelenskyy indicated that Ukraine's agenda includes the return of prisoners of war, the return of "children abducted from Russia," and preparations for a meeting between the two leaders.

On June 2, Istanbul hosted a second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, following a first round on May 16. The second round resulted in agreements on the return of the frozen bodies of 6,000 Ukrainian soldiers and the exchange of seriously ill soldiers and prisoners under the age of 25.
