Kyiv: Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his readiness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump "in a trilateral or bilateral framework, without preconditions, provided that the meeting does not take place in Moscow," he said.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zelenskyy said in an interview with Sky News: "I am ready to meet with Presidents Trump and Putin, in a trilateral or bilateral framework, and I am ready to meet without any conditions." He indicated that he does not intend to travel to the Russian capital, Moscow, for negotiations, but that he is "open to any proposals to hold a meeting in any country other than Russia," he said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed "Ukraine's readiness for a ceasefire." Zelenskyy said: "We hoped that President Trump would agree to a ceasefire. We are ready for a ceasefire."

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on September 3 that Moscow's doors were open to a visit from Zelenskyy if he was ready to meet. During a press conference concluding his visit to China, Putin said he had informed Trump of the possibility of a meeting with Zelenskyy, adding, "If (Vladimir) Zelenskyy is ready to meet, he should come to Moscow."

Putin added, "Territorial issues in Ukraine can be resolved through a referendum, but martial law must be lifted for that to happen."
