Zurbatiya: The Border Ports Authority announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle motorcycle chassis, which are prohibited from import, at the Zurbatiya border crossing. The Authority reported that the incident was detected at a search and inspection point outside the customs area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, detachments from the Zurbatiya Border Port Directorate intercepted a vehicle that was declared to be carrying “car spare parts.” However, upon inspection, it was discovered that the cargo consisted of motorcycle chassis intended for smuggling. The import of these chassis is prohibited.

The Authority explained that a formal seizure report was prepared, and the vehicle along with the materials was transferred to the Zurbatiya Customs Police Station. The case will be presented before the investigating judge in Badra for legal action against the violators.
