New york: Germany’s Alexander Zverev reached the final of the US Open tennis tournament, the last of the four Grand Slam championships, by defeating his Russian opponent Karen Khachanov in straight sets early Saturday morning.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the German, ranked second in the world, secured the victory against his Russian opponent, who is ranked 50th, with scores of 6-3, 7-6 (9-7), and 7-6 (8-6).
Zverev will face the winner of the match between Americans Ben Chilton and Frances Tiafoe in the final.
