Baghdad The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahia Rasool, announced that an attempt to target the energy towers in Diyala was foiled.
On his Twitter account, he said: “Based on intelligence, the 1st Infantry Division was able to thwart an attempt to target electric power transmission towers in Diyala.”
He added: The force began to encircle the place of the towers and came under fire from an armed group, and the force responded to this attack, clashing with this group and killed one of the terrorists.
