Baghdad: The Directorate of Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances announced the seizure of 50 kilograms of narcotic toxins and the arrest of 21 international and local traffickers over the past 72 hours.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate stated that the Special Investigations Department of the General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics Affairs successfully executed a significant operation. Over the last 72 hours, they seized 50 kilograms of various narcotic substances and apprehended 21 traffickers, both international and local. These operations were conducted as part of a series of precise operations under direct judicial supervision.

The Directorate further explained that these efforts were based on decisions made by the investigating judge specializing in narcotics cases at the Central Investigation Court. This court has been instrumental in serving as a judicial stronghold, taking decisive actions against those undermining Iraq's security and societal stability. The court issued decisions that disrupted and dismantled drug networks, preventing further threats to societal security.

The Directorate emphasized that the strong coordination between the judiciary and internal security forces has effectively made Iraq a challenging environment for drug dealers. It reiterated that strict judicial rulings will continue to serve as a significant deterrent for those involved in drug trading.
