Baghdad: The year 2025 saw significant advancements in the clean energy sector, as several major deals emerged, reshaping global investment dynamics amidst increasing competition among Middle Eastern economies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Arab countries, particularly Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, along with Egypt, Oman, and Bahrain, experienced a notable rise in solar, wind, and energy storage projects. This growth was accompanied by a substantial increase in foreign direct investment.

By the end of the year, the dominance of Gulf states in the list of largest renewable energy deals for 2025 was affirmed. Riyadh and Abu Dhabi successfully concluded significant agreements extending from Central Asia to Europe and the Middle East, boosting expectations for even larger projects in 2026.
