Casualties Rise in Gaza Following School Bombing by Israeli Forces

NUSAIRAT: The death toll from the recent attack by Israeli forces on a school sheltering displaced individuals in the Nusairat camp, central Gaza Strip, has climbed to 22, with 80 others wounded.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, local Palestinian sources disclosed that the “Mufti” school, currently housing hundreds of displaced persons, was targeted by Israeli artillery shelling. The attack forms a part of the ongoing conflict that has seen continuous Israeli military operations across the Gaza Strip. Since October 7, 2023, these operations have resulted in the death of 42,227 Palestinians and injuries to 98,464 more, predominantly children and women. This count continues to rise as rescue efforts reveal more casualties still trapped under rubble.

Further reports from the region indicated additional incidents, including the death of two Palestinians due to Israeli shelling near the Bureij camp, also located in the central Gaza Strip. Another earlier assault west of Al-Shati camp, north of Gaza City,
resulted in the deaths of five children, with several more injured.

The ongoing military actions by Israeli forces, encompassing air, sea, and land assaults, have escalated tensions and humanitarian concerns in the region.
