Precision Airstrikes in Kirkuk Obliterate ISIS Hideout, Killing Four


KIRKUK: In a significant strike against ISIS, two precision airstrikes were executed in the Kirkuk sector, resulting in the death of four terrorists, including a high-ranking leader.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Cell released a statement detailing the operations which were carried out based on directives from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The statement highlighted the intensive three-day intelligence operation that preceded the airstrikes. The Counter-Terrorism Service, with the guidance of the Targeting Cell in the Joint Operations Command, meticulously tracked and identified a crucial terrorist den in the Laylan area within the Kirkuk Operations Command sector. The successful airstrikes, conducted using F-16 aircraft at 1:30 pm and 5:00 am, targeted these coordinates effectively. Following the airstrikes, a ground force from the Counter-Terrorism Service confirmed the elimination of four ISIS members, the destruction of their weapons, communications equipment, a
nd other logistical materials at the site. The operation is still ongoing with further searches in the area.

The Security Media Cell also affirmed the commitment of the armed forces to continue their efforts in eradicating terrorist hideouts and maintaining national security. The statement concluded by praising the valor and dedication of the Iraqi security forces in their ongoing battle against terrorism.
