Western Bekaa: In a severe escalation of hostilities, Israeli aircraft launched a series of airstrikes on multiple locations in Western Bekaa, Hermel, and Baalbek on Tuesday. The attacks, which included both manned aircraft and drone operations, resulted in significant structural damage and raised concerns about potential toxic exposure, though no casualties have been reported thus far.

According to National News Agency-Lebanon, the airstrikes in Western Bekaa targeted several areas including Aishiya, Mahmoudiya, the outskirts of Qilya, Wadi Bergoz, and Sarireh, extending to Sohmor. Despite the intensity of the airstrikes, there have been no immediate reports of injuries, although enemy planes continue to patrol the skies.

In the Hermel district, the border area of Jarmash, adjacent to the Syrian border, witnessed similar hostile activities. A drone strike specifically targeted the town of Hosh al-Sayyed Ali, intensifying fears among the local populace.

The situation escalated further in Baalbek, where air
strikes were carried out just after midnight. The most significant damage was reported at the southern entrance of the city, particularly in Qubbat Duris where a building was completely destroyed. The nearby al-Mortada Hospital suffered extensive damage and has been forced to cease operations. Additional airstrikes targeted the towns of Duris and Shaat in the Baalbek district, while drone activity was noted above these areas.

Residents of Baalbek also reported experiencing an unpleasant odor, which they fear might be due to toxic substances released during the bombings. A home on the outskirts of the city was also destroyed, adding to the toll on civilian infrastructure.
