Iraqi Prime Minister Visits Australian Hospital Project in Baqubah to Ensure Timely Completion

BAQUBAH: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani conducted a field visit today to the Australian Hospital project in Baqubah, Diyala Governorate, to oversee progress and inaugurate several service projects in the area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani arrived this morning and toured the hospital project site. He reviewed the progress and rates of completion, emphasizing the importance of adhering to project timelines. Al-Sudani expressed the government’s commitment to eliminating delays in service and strategic projects, stating that procrastination is unacceptable and must be eradicated entirely.

The Australian Hospital, initially stalled since 2008, has resumed construction under a specialized Australian firm. The project, part of a broader effort to reactivate delayed infrastructure projects, currently stands at 27% completion. Once completed, the hospital will feature 400 beds, five floors, a consulting clinic, various specialized departments for multiple diseases, a 40-bed emergency ha
ll, and additional service areas.
