BAGHDAD: The Supreme Committee supervising the Al-Hol camp file convened today with key Iraqi officials, including National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji, to expedite the return of displaced persons from Al-Hol camp to their original residences.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting aimed to fast-track the procedures for transferring Iraqi displaced persons from Al-Hol camp to Al-Jadaa Center. This center is designed for rehabilitation before they are resettled in their original communities. The committee focused on removing the hurdles that delay the resettlement process, aligning with the Iraqi government’s directives to conclude these efforts promptly.

The Chancellery’s statement highlighted the discussion on overcoming all obstacles facing the committee regarding the displaced persons’ return. It also noted the appreciation expressed by the committee for the Ministry of Migration and the supporting bodies for their role in ensuring the success of this national mission.

The meeting saw
the participation of several high-ranking officials like Minister of Migration and Displacement Evan Faiq Jabro, Security Advisor to the Prime Minister Khaled Al-Yaqoubi, Undersecretary of the Intelligence Service and Advisor to the Prime Minister for Human Rights Zidane Khalaf, along with representatives from the Joint Operations Command, the National Security Service, and other relevant state institutions.
