BEIRUT: The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has resulted in a staggering 2,350 Lebanese fatalities and 10,906 injuries over the past year, according to the latest figures released by the Crisis Response Unit in Lebanon. The report also highlights the intense fighting and displacement crisis that has gripped the nation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in the past 24 hours alone, the conflict has claimed 41 lives and inflicted wounds on 124 individuals. The Crisis Response Unit’s report detailed the extent of the conflict’s impact on Lebanon, with 146 airstrikes and shelling incidents recorded in just one day, primarily targeting southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the Bekaa region.

The humanitarian situation has worsened, with the report indicating that 1,067 shelters, including educational complexes, vocational institutes, and universities, are now housing 188,652 displaced persons. Among these, 881 shelters have reached their maximum capacity. The United Nations Chi
ldren’s Agency has reported that the fighting has displaced a total of 1.2 million people, including over 400,000 children, highlighting the severe impact on the younger population.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health is closely monitoring the crisis and coordinating with various agencies to provide necessary medical and logistical support to the affected population.
