SULAYMANIYAH: Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) forces have successfully apprehended two terrorists in separate operations in the provinces of Sulaymaniyah and Salah al-Din, as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle remnants of the ISIS terrorist network in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Cell released a statement detailing the operations. “In continuation of the relentless efforts of the heroes of the Counter-Terrorism Service in tracking down ISIS terrorist gangs, the units of the CTS, in coordination with the Operations Directorate of the Asayish Service of the Kurdistan Region, arrested one of the terrorists in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.”

The statement also highlighted a simultaneous operation in Salah al-Din Governorate, where CTS forces detained another member of the terrorist group. “The brave men of the CTS were able, in a qualitative operation, to arrest one of the terrorists in Salah al-Din Governorate,” the Security Media Cell noted.

Further, the statement elaborates
on additional counter-terrorism activities in Anbar Governorate. “Within the framework of the inspection operations of ISIS terrorist hideouts, the heroes of the Counter-Terrorism Service detonated a group of launcher missiles and explosive materials in Anbar Governorate, the desert south of Rutba,” emphasizing the ongoing commitment of Iraqi security forces to “eliminate the remaining remnants of ISIS gangs in every inch of our land.”
