Israeli Airstrike Targets Southern Lebanon, Killing 16 and Injuring 52

NABATIEH: Sixteen people were killed and 52 others were injured on Wednesday evening, as a result of continuous bombing by Israeli aircraft on southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported significant casualties following the targeting of the Nabatieh Municipality building and its Union of Municipalities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the airstrike on Nabatieh is part of a broader pattern of escalated Israeli military activity in the region. Lebanon has been experiencing increased Israeli aggression since October 2023, with recent operations expanding into heavy air and artillery bombardments. These intensified attacks have not only affected southern Lebanon but have also reached the capital, Beirut, resulting in thousands of casualties and displacing over a million people.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has been actively documenting and responding to the casualties, which has overwhelmed local medical facilities and emergency services. This recent attack underscores the severe esca
lation in the conflict, marking a significant upturn in violence that has gripped the region for months.
