Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command forces successfully apprehended a suspect linked to kidnapping crimes in one of the Karkh areas, following a carefully coordinated operation involving intelligence and reconnaissance units.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrest was the result of a “distinguished intelligence effort” by the Anti-Kidnapping Cell within the Intelligence and Security Department of the Baghdad Operations Command. The suspect, wanted under Article (421/kidnapping crimes), was closely monitored and ultimately captured during a tightly executed ambush by the command’s reconnaissance battalion detachments. This operation was based on arrest warrants issued by the Iraqi judiciary. Following the arrest, the suspect was handed over to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
