Sofia: The Ambassador of Iraq to Sofia, Lina Jalal Omar, met with Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Industry, Petko Nikolov, to discuss enhancing economic and trade cooperation and planning a new session of the Joint Committee between Iraq and Bulgaria.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions, which took place at the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy and Industry in Sofia, focused on ways to boost economic and trade cooperation and coordinate the next meeting of the Iraqi-Bulgarian Joint Committee. The meeting also addressed the activation of agreements and memoranda of understanding previously signed between the two nations, aiming to develop bilateral cooperation in various areas of common interest, particularly in economics, to benefit the people of both countries.

The statement further noted that Ambassador Omar emphasized the importance of continuing to hold joint meetings and exchange visits between officials from both countries. Additionally, she highlighted the necessity to enhance coop
eration between private sector institutions in Iraq and Bulgaria and to increase trade exchange rates to desired levels.
