Iraqi-Spanish Joint Committee Concludes Thirteenth Session with Key Signings


Baghdad: Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi sponsored the signing of the minutes of the thirteenth session of the Iraqi-Spanish Joint Committee on Monday, marking a significant step in bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Iraq and Spain.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the session was launched earlier in the day under the leadership of Minister Al-Saadawi. The Minister highlighted in a statement that Iraq is undergoing a major transformation in its economic and trade policies under the current Sudanese government, aiming to reassert its role as a leader both regionally and internationally.

The Minister emphasized the Iraqi government’s new policy direction, which includes economic openness and enhancing the role of the private sector in the country’s economic development. He noted that Iraq is currently leveraging its geographical location to invest in the development road project, which seeks to promote economic integration among regional countries.

Further, Al-Saada
wi remarked on the longstanding ties between Iraq and Spain, dating back to the 1970s, which are underpinned by a bilateral cooperation agreement covering various sectors. This historical relationship sets the stage for continued collaboration and mutual growth between the two nations.
