Doha: The United States and Israel have dispatched delegations to Doha to engage in high-stakes consultations aimed at brokering a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The announcement was made by Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani during a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Qatari Prime Minister disclosed that the consultations in Doha are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts involving Qatar, the United States, Egypt, and other regional partners. These efforts are focused on resolving the conflict, halting hostilities, and securing the release of hostages in the region. The Prime Minister emphasized the close coordination with Egypt on any initiatives under consideration and noted ongoing discussions between Egypt and the Hamas movement, expressing hope for a positive outcome. Qatar, in collaboration with Egypt and the United States, has taken on a mediating role between Israel and the Pa lestinian Hamas movement. The goal is to reach a ceasefire agreement and facilitate the release of hostages. Despite several rounds of consultations held in August, the parties involved have yet to achieve any significant breakthroughs.
