Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has reiterated Iraq's firm stance against what he described as barbaric aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, a position he has consistently maintained in international forums. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani made these remarks during a meeting with tribal sheikhs and dignitaries in Wasit Governorate. He emphasized that decisions of war and peace are the prerogative of the state and its constitutional institutions. He warned that any deviation from this norm would be met with the full force of the state, which is grounded in the constitution and law. Al-Sudani underscored that the interests of Iraq and its people take precedence over all other considerations. Al-Sudani's visit to Wasit Governorate was part of a series of field visits aimed at assessing service delivery, monitoring the progress of ongoing projects, and addressing any obstacles. He also sought to meet with officials and residents to understand their needs better. The Prime Minister highlighted the critical role of tribes in supporting the state, particularly during this sensitive period in the region, which demands national solidarity to tackle challenges. The Prime Minister also highlighted the government's commitment to service projects in Wasit across various sectors, noting that since its inception, the government has been working in parallel in Baghdad and other governorates. He spoke on the agricultural sector, emphasizing the government's dedication to developing it alongside other sectors, and the importance of adopting modern technologies in agriculture and irrigation.
