BEIRUT: Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, has condemned an Israeli attack in Hasbaya that resulted in the deaths of three journalists, describing the act as a war crime. The attack claimed the lives of journalist Wisam Qassem, photographer Ghassan Najar, and broadcasting engineer Mohammed Reda.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Makary extended his condolences to Ibrahim Farhat, the Director-General of Al-Manar TV, and Ghassan Ben Jeddou, the Chairman of Al-Mayadeen, in response to the tragic incident. He criticized the attack, stating, “what occurred is a war crime added to the criminal record of an enemy that disregards all laws and violates every taboo in full view of the entire world.” The attack on the journalists’ residence in Hasbaya has drawn widespread condemnation and highlighted ongoing tensions in the region.
