BEIRUT: Lebanon has successfully secured $1 billion in aid at the Paris conference, exceeding initial expectations, as the international community continues to rally support for the beleaguered nation. The conference also saw a renewed commitment to Resolution 1701, aimed at maintaining peace along Lebanon’s southern border.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the importance of preventing the exportation of external conflicts into Lebanon. His statements come at a time of increased regional instability, particularly due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Macron’s remarks underscored the necessity of shielding Lebanon from further regional turmoil, which has historically affected its stability.

In related developments, Lebanese newspaper Al-Joumhouria reported that Washington is actively seeking to address Lebanon’s political challenges, particularly the presidential vacancy, while also advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza. The United States’ involvement highl
