BAGHDAD: Air traffic has been completely suspended at all airports across Iraq, as announced by the Ministry of Transport, due to escalating regional tensions. The suspension is temporary and aims to ensure the safety of civil aviation within Iraqi airspace. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry's media office released a statement highlighting the reasons for this decision. The statement cited regional tensions as the primary cause, and emphasized that Iraqi air navigation would remain suspended until further notice to safeguard civil aviation. The General Company for Airports and Air Navigation Management has initiated the gradual evacuation of Iraqi airspace, affecting incoming, outgoing, and transiting flights, to prioritize passenger safety. Additionally, the General Company for Iraqi Airways has halted all its flights temporarily as a precautionary measure. This suspension is intended to protect passengers and ensure the safety of airline operations in the region. The Ministry's stateme nt did not specify when normal operations might resume, indicating that the suspension will persist until further notice.
