Beirut: The Lebanese Hezbollah party has announced the election of Sheikh Naim Qassem as the Secretary-General of the party. The announcement came today, Tuesday, signifying a pivotal moment in the party’s leadership.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, The Hezbollah leadership released a statement affirming the election, emphasizing the decision was made “based on faith in God Almighty, commitment to authentic Muhammadan Islam, adherence to Hezbollah’s principles and goals, and in accordance with the approved mechanism for electing the Secretary-General.” The statement further noted that Hezbollah’s Shura Council unanimously agreed on electing Sheikh Naim Qassem to the position, entrusting him to lead Hezbollah and its Islamic resistance. The leadership sought divine guidance for Sheikh Qassem in his new role, as he carries forward the “blessed banner” of the organization.
