Baghdad: The Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, has issued a directive for the expedited submission of investigation results concerning the Director of the Tax Authority. This move comes in response to an audio leak allegedly involving the Director-General of the General Tax Authority.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Finance has released a statement indicating that an urgent investigative committee has been formed under the directive of the Prime Minister. This committee is tasked with examining the audio leak attributed to the Director-General. The special committee is expected to submit its recommendations promptly.

In a related development, the Federal Integrity Commission had earlier announced that it commenced a direct investigation into the same audio leak allegations.
