Al-Issawi Urges Unpressured Voting in Iraqi Parliament Speaker Election.

Baghdad: The candidate for the presidency of parliament, Salem Al-Issawi, has called upon representatives participating in the second round of electing the Speaker of the House of Representatives to vote freely for the candidates vying for the position. Al-Issawi emphasized the importance of casting votes without succumbing to any external pressures or “imposing wills,” a term he used to describe undue influence in the election process.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Issawi’s appeal comes at a crucial time as the Iraqi parliament seeks to elect its new Speaker. His statement reflects a commitment to ensuring a transparent and fair election process, urging representatives to exercise their voting rights independently and without coercion. Al-Issawi’s call highlights ongoing concerns about the integrity and independence of the legislative process in Iraq.
