Baghdad: Four personnel from the Ministry of Defense were affected by an explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) left by ISIS in Nineveh.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry’s spokesman, Special Forces Major General Yahya Rasool Abdullah, reported that the Al-Jazeera Operations Command and the 7th Infantry Division lost two fighters who were killed by the IED explosion. The incident occurred during a search mission in the 27th Infantry Brigade’s area of responsibility, north of the Rawa Desert, south of Nineveh. Two additional personnel were wounded and have been hospitalized for treatment.
Major General Abdullah emphasized that the army remains committed to its duties, continuing operations against terrorist elements. The forces are focused on eliminating remaining threats, ensuring security, and maintaining stability in the region.
