Baghdad: Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, and Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, chaired a security meeting today to review the plans drawn up in the deployment of security units and intelligence efforts. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Joint Operations Command stated that Yarallah and Al-Muhammadawi conducted an expanded security meeting via video conference. The meeting was attended by key military and security officials including the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army for Operations, the Commander of the Land Forces, the Commander of Army Aviation, the Commander of Air Defense, the Director of Military Intelligence, a representative of the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Commander of Special Forces, the Deputy Commander of the Federal Police, the Commander of the Ninth Armored Division, and staff officers from the Ministries of Defense and Interior, alongside staff officers from the Joint Operations Command, securit y agencies, and intelligence agencies. The statement highlighted that the Army Chief of Staff and the Deputy Commander of Operations commended the significant efforts made by security units and their successes in neutralizing leaders and members of the terrorist ISIS groups, particularly during recent operations in several areas of responsibility. The statement further explained that the meeting involved a review of the plans for deploying security forces and enhancing intelligence efforts, with an emphasis on the importance of preemptive operations. It also stressed the need to intensify intelligence efforts and coordination in joint security work, with a focus on unifying command and control to ensure the success of the security duties performed by the forces in their respective areas of responsibility. The meeting concluded with a detailed briefing on the operational sectors' work and the security and intelligence tasks they are undertaking.
