Erbil: The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, engaged in discussions with Futoshi Matsumoto, the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, to enhance joint cooperation between the two regions. The meeting was held on the occasion of the conclusion of Matsumoto's term. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Barzani expressed gratitude towards Ambassador Matsumoto for his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations. He also acknowledged the support and developmental projects undertaken by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the Kurdistan Region. The Japanese Ambassador reiterated Japan's commitment to bolstering relations with the Kurdistan Region across various fields. The discussions also touched upon the recent success of the Kurdistan Parliament elections and emphasized the need to expedite the formation of the new ministerial cabinet of the regional government.
