Riyadh: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to participate in the ministerial meeting of the Arab-Islamic Summit. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that “Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein arrived yesterday evening, Saturday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to participate in the ministerial meeting of the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic Summit.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the minister began his visit by meeting with the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine, Muhammad Mustafa. They discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as reviewed the most important regional and international issues of common interest. The discussions also touched upon the developments related to tensions in the Middle East region and exchanged views on the impact of the next US administration and the positions of the new President Trump on the political
situation of countries in the region.

The minister affirmed Iraq’s firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that Iraq, both government and people, stands by the Palestinian people in their efforts to achieve their legitimate rights.
