Salah al-Din: The Iraqi National Security Service has successfully dismantled a network involved in forgery and manipulation concerning the sale of lands in Salah al-Din Governorate. In a significant operation, authorities have apprehended key individuals allegedly orchestrating fraudulent activities linked to land transactions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Service announced the arrest of the director of the Sharqat District Municipality and the assistant director of the Real Estate Registration Department. These arrests are part of ongoing efforts to combat administrative and financial corruption and enhance oversight of state department operations. The accused are implicated in fabricating documents and manipulating transactions for residential land sales within the Sharqat Municipality Directorate, in collaboration with the Real Estate Registration Department.

Investigations revealed that the accused exploited Article (25/Third) of the State Property Sale and Lease Law N
o. (21 of 2013) amended, to carry out their illegal activities. The evidence indicates that residential plots were unlawfully registered under the names of citizens and employees within the implicated departments using forged official documents that were not valid in the official records. The individuals involved have been referred to the competent judicial authorities for further legal action.
