Baghdad: In the presence of the President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein chaired the sixth meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the Arab Summit in Baghdad. The session was part of the efforts under Diwani Order No. 24655 to organize the forthcoming 34th Arab Summit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and included high-ranking officials such as Ministers of Planning Mohammed Tamim, Finance Taif Sami, Culture Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, Mayor of Baghdad Ammar Musa, and Mu’ayyad Al-Lami, who is also the President of the Arab Journalists Federation. Representatives from the Prime Ministry, undersecretaries of ministries, and various relevant institutions were also in attendance.

The committee reviewed the latest developments in the preparations for the summit, focusing on both logistical and security arrangements. Discussions extended to the media aspects of the event, includin
g accrediting media outlets and ensuring they have the necessary resources to operate effectively.

The meeting addressed existing challenges within the service and security sectors, exploring solutions to overcome them before the summit. The attendees emphasized that hosting the Arab Summit in Baghdad underscores Iraq’s significant role in promoting peace and stability, as well as its status as a key player in fostering Arab cooperation.
