GAZA CITY: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has issued a stark warning regarding the escalating risk of famine in the Gaza Strip. The region’s residents are grappling with severe food insecurity and a dire lack of humanitarian aid due to the ongoing Israeli military operations, which have persisted for over 14 months.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, UNRWA communicated via the “X” platform that while its teams are making concerted efforts to deliver assistance to those in dire need, the aid being provided is far from sufficient. The agency highlighted the severe food insecurity faced by Gaza’s population and called for urgent international collaboration to halt hostilities, emphasizing that a ceasefire is essential for delivering life-saving support and averting a humanitarian catastrophe.
