Al-Sudani and Al-Maliki Address Iraq’s Challenges Amid Regional Tensions


BAGHDAD: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and Nouri Al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, convened to deliberate on the pressing challenges facing Iraq. They underscored the need for unified efforts to address these issues, especially given the regional developments.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office highlighted that the meeting focused on Iraq’s general situation and the government’s progress in fulfilling its program goals. Key areas of discussion included securing citizens’ needs and enhancing services to foster economic development.



The dialogue also covered Iraq’s prominent challenges and the critical need for collective action to address them. This conversation took place against the backdrop of regional events, notably in Syria, where Iraq reaffirmed its support for Syrian territorial unity and respect for the people’s choices. Additionally, the leaders emphasized the importance of ongoing international and regional efforts to halt aggression in Gaza, stabilize Lebanon, and prevent the conflict from spreading further in the region.
