KIRKUK: A member of the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) was killed during an armed confrontation with ISIS elements in the Hamrin Mountains, located in Kirkuk. The incident underscores the ongoing security challenges posed by ISIS in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the clash occurred as CTS operatives engaged with ISIS fighters in the mountainous terrain, which has been a known hideout for terrorist activities. The identity of the martyred CTS member has not been disclosed, pending notification of family members.
