Earthquake Recorded North of Kirkuk Governorate


KIRKUK: The Ministry of Transport announced that a minor earthquake occurred north of Kirkuk Governorate. The seismic event, which registered a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale, was detected by seismic observatories and felt by residents in nearby areas.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 38 kilometers north of Kirkuk Governorate. The General Authority for Meteorology reported on the seismic activity, confirming the magnitude and providing details on the affected region. Residents in proximity to the epicenter experienced the tremor, although no damage or injuries have been officially reported.



The Ministry of Transport has been monitoring the seismic activity closely and has assured the public of continued vigilance in tracking such natural events. The authorities have also advised citizens to remain informed through official channels for any further updates regarding seismic activity in the region.
